EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – As has become customary early in the season, the Blizzard will be put to the test when it plays its next 22 games in just 67 days, starting with a three-game road trip beginning tonight.
The Blizzard (1-2-0-1) will face the West Kent Steamers (3-1-1-0) today (7 p.m.), the Valley Wildcats (1-4-0-0) on Friday (7 p.m.), and the Yarmouth Mariners (2-2-0-0) on Saturday (7 p.m.).
Michael Ward’s men will play nine games in October and ten in November. By November 30, the Blizzard will already be halfway through its 52-game schedule.
Since 2017-2018, the Blizzard has always played at least one series of three games in as many days per season. In fact, this has happened 14 times. The Blizzard’s overall record in these three-game series is 27-12-2-1. And they have won their last 13 games in such circumstances. Sometimes it’s a series of three games on the road or a mix of road and home games.
The trip to Grand-Bouctouche to Berwick to Yarmouth will be nearly 1,000 kilometers. The first test will be tonight at the J.K. Irving Centre when the Blizzard takes on the West Kent Steamers.
