Alex Arsenault is back with the Blizzard!

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard learned great news today with the return of forward Alex Arsenault.

The 20-year-old from Saint-Charles-de-Kent, New Brunswick, has played his last two seasons in the QMJHL. In 2020-2021, he played with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. He was traded the same year to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In 2021-2022, he had a great campaign with 11 goals and 22 assists in 64 games. His rights for the 2022-2023 season belonged to the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.

In his rookie season with the Blizzard in 2019-20, he wowed. He took part in 52 games for the Edmundston squad, tallying 18 goals and 17 assists. During his time in Edmundston, he was really appreciated by fans and his teammates.

Blizzard head coach Simon Olivier is very happy with the return of former number 27.

“I don’t know Alex that well because he only played one season in Edmundston at 17. But I can tell you that I am super happy to know that he has agreed to play his last season here. He has two years of experience in the QMJHL. He will definitely be an impact player offensively,” said the head coach.

Arsenault holds the record for most goals (18) by a Blizzard rookie and most points in a game by a rookie (2g, 4p), on November 2, 2019 in Yarmouth.
