Another convincing win for the Blizzard

ST. STEPHEN, New Brunswick – Captain Kyle Ward took charge tonight (Saturday, November 4) to guide the Edmundston Blizzard to a 4-1 triumph over the St. Stephen Aces in front of 862 fans at the Garcelon Civic Center in St. Stephen.

In addition to scoring the winning goal in the second period, Ward added two assists.

Alexandre Jacob (1g, 1a), Maxime Grandmaison (1g) and Nolan Alward (1g) also contributed offensively for the Blizzard which boosted its record to 13 wins and 3 losses.

Back in the net, Francis Asselin shone once again by blocking 28 of 29 pucks against him. His counterpart, Jack Grant, faced 38 shots.

Maxime Grandmaison, with his 6th of the season, opened the scoring at 4:16 of the first period. But the Aces tied it up at 12:33.

Only one goal was scored in the second, at 7:19, but it was the decisive one. Ward registered his 15th goal of the campaign.

The Blizzard put the game out of reach for the Aces in the third with two goals on the power play, Nolan Alward (5th of the season at 0:35) and Alexandre Jacob (6th of the season at 17:46).

It was the second win in two nights for the Blizzard which won 6 to 1 twenty-four hours before in Woodstock. The Blizzard fulfilled its mission during the weekend. Edmundston will retur to action next Friday in Miramichi when the team face the Timberwolves.
