EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – For the second month this season, Edmundston Blizzard forward Philippe Collette was named one of the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s (CJHL) Elite Players, this time for the month of December.
The Blizzard captain amassed 19 points, including 7 goals and 12 assists, in just 6 games in December. He accumulated two or more points in each of these games, including a two-goal, four-assist performance on December 14 against Fredericton. When he was selected as an honorable mention in October, he had collected 21 points in 12 games.
This season, the Saint-Antoine forward ranks second in the MHL scoring race, just one point behind the leader. Collette has a record of 19 goals and 39 assists for 58 points. His 39 assists are a league high.
The three stars in the country went to goaltender Kristian Coombs (1st star) of the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL), who posted a goals-against-average of 1.57 and save percentage of .931, forward Loïc Prud’homme (2nd star), Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL), with 8 goals and 7 assists in 9 games, and forward Daxton Lang (3rd star), Kam River Fighting Walleye (SIJHL), with 5 goals and 10 assists in 6 games.
