Austin Caley’s rights traded to Brockville

EDMUNDSTON, N. B. – The Edmundston Blizzard has traded goalie Austin Caley’s rights to the Brockville Braves, a Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) team, in exchange for future considerations.

The Texas goalie, who turns 20 next month, had quite a season with the Blizzard last year. In addition to leading his team to the Maritime Hockey League playoff championship, he compiled a perfect record of 16 wins (10 in the regular season and 6 in the playoffs) with the Blizzard in 2024-2025. He posted a 1.79 goals-against average with Edmundston and a 2.44 in the postseason. The man who “couldn’t lose” even won both of the team’s games at the Canadian Centennial Cup championship in Calgary in May.

Caley, who played 11 games in Truro before ending up in Edmundston, also posted the best goals-against average among MHL goalies (1.98) last season.

The Blizzard management wishes Austin every success in the 2025-2026 season.
