Blizzard acquire Dominic Loubert, offensive defenseman

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard added some offensive punch to its blue line by acquiring Quebec back Dominic Loubert.

The right-handed rearguard, who will turn 20 in December, had an outstanding season last year, scoring 9 goals and adding 54 assists for 63 points in 49 games with the Oklahoma City Blazers, an American team playing in the Western States Tier II Hockey League (WSHL) which includes 23 teams.

Loubert, 5’9 and 174 pounds, ranked 3rd overall among defensemen in the American league. The WSHL caliber is considered similar to Junior A hockey.
