EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard acquired forward Ben Wallace from the Valley Wildcats today, in return for a 2nd-round pick in the 2024 MHL midget draft and future considerations.
A native of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Wallace had an excellent season with the Weeks Majors of the Nova Scotia Midget Hockey League in 2022-2023, collecting 25 goals and 25 assists in 35 games. This season, he played in 13 games for the Valley Wildcats, collecting 4 goals and 2 assists.
Wallace stands at 5’11 and is not afraid to go in the traffic if we rely on his stats over the past few years. He was a 10th-round pick (109th overall) by Valley in the 2021 draft. That same year, he was selected in the 14th round (243rd overall) by the QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads.
Several races are very close in both divisions of the MHL, and many transactions have taken place this week. The league’s trade deadline is January 10, 2024.
