EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard began its summer shopping spree when they acquired promising 18-year-old defenseman Samuel Cloutier.
He played for his hometown Lévis Chevaliers for the past two seasons in the Québec Midget AAA Development Hockey League. In 2024-2025, he played in all 42 games for the Chevaliers, collecting 4 goals and 21 assists for 25 points. He was even better in the playoffs, amassing 2 goals and 8 assists for 10 points in 12 games, helping the Chevaliers win the Quebec league championship.
Cloutier is fortunate to play for the Blizzard, a team that has enjoyed similar success to the Chevaliers, with an impressive season of 38 wins and 4 losses in overtime or shootouts. Following their Quebec MAAA League championship, the Chevaliers lost in overtime to Regina in the final of the Telus Cup Canadian Midget Championship held in Chilliwack, British Columbia. In 7 games at the national championship, Cloutier tallied 1 goal and 3 assists.
Samuel Cloutier is 5’11 and weighs 190 lbs. He has three junior seasons ahead of him.
