EDMUNDSTON, Nouveau-Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard just completed a mega transaction by getting star player Dany Coulombe of the Montreal-Est Rangers of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League. In return, the Rangers will receive future considerations.

The 20-year-old Coulombe had 38 points (18 goals and 20 assists) in 30 games this season with Montreal-Est. He started the regular season by playing one game with the Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon Montagnards. Last year, he was the league’s second-leading goal scorer with 51 goals in 38 games. He concluded the 2016-2017 campaign with 78 points with the Montagnards.

This season, the Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts native had an outstanding sequence of 15 games with at least a point between September 28 and November 24.

Last season, the 5’10’’ and 165 lbs player dressed up for 12 games in the QMJHL with the Sherbrooke Phoenix. He had two goals and three assists.

Coulombe will be in uniform on Wednesday at the Jean-Daigle Centre, as will Gabriel Vanier and Liam Leonard, who completed their brief stay with their team from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
