EDMUNDSTON, N.B. – The Edmundston Blizzard acquired the rights to Néka Jean from the Warman Wolverines, members of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). The Blizzard gave up future considerations in return. Edmundston also traded its second pick in the 2026 MHL draft to the Grand Falls Rapids, who held his rights.
The 19-year-old forward has played in nine games with the Wolverines this season, scoring two goals. Last season, he played for the Notre Dame Hounds, scoring nine goals and 20 assists in 56 games.
As a midget with the Moncton Flyers in 2023-2024, he had 16 goals and 29 assists in 35 games.
Néka Jean is the son of Frantz Bergevin-Jean, former goaltender for the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus and currently goaltending coach for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL.
According to general manager Steve MacPherson, Néka Jean’s presence in the Blizzard lineup will add skills and speed.
