Blizzard adds D Vincent Bujold to its lineup

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Edmundston Blizzard organization continued their summer shopping by adding a strong defenseman to their roster.

Vincent Bujold was expected to have a remarkable season with the Terrebonne Cobras last year, but a nasty injury shattered his hopes in the second game of the campaign. According to Blizzard general manager Steve MacPherson, Bujold is “one hundred percent healthy.”

“I’m very excited to come with the Blizzard! We’re going to have a strong team and I can’t wait to show Edmundston what I’m capable of doing as a defenseman, “said the 18-year-old right-handed defenseman, 6’1″ and 190 lbs. He will turn 19 on October 6.

Bujold is expected to make his presence felt as a leader on the blue line and in the Blizzard dressing room. In 2018-19, he acted as the captain of the Esther-Blondin College Phénix in the Québec Midget AAA Hockey League. In 37 games, the 6’1’’ and 190 lbs rearguard collected 3 goals and 16 assists.

Blizzard head coach Emery Olauson is very pleased about the team’s latest two acquisitions, Kevin Desjardins (announced Thursday) and Vincent Bujold.

“Going into this season we have some big holes in our roster from our departing 20-year-olds, “noted Olauson. “It is very exciting that we have had the ability to add impact players who will help to fill those holes. ”

“Kevin should be an immediate impact offensive weapon and add maturity to a very deep and talented forward group that is forming. Bujold will help to solidify a score that also has a lot of holes to fill. ”

“Even though he has missed some hockey over the past season it is our expectation the Vincent will make an impact in our league and be able to help our team in many situations. Blizzard fans should be as excited as we are to welcome these guys to Edmundston for this long-anticipated return to MHL hockey! “analyzed coach Olauson.
