EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Undefeated in regulation time in its last seven games, the Edmundston Blizzard (14-3-2-0) climbed to 14th place in the country’s top junior A hockey teams. The Blizzard was in 19thplace last week.
This past weekend at the Jean-Daigle Centre, the Blizzard defeated the St. Stephen Aces, 2-1, and fell by the same score in overtime two days later against the Yarmouth Mariners.
Despite adding a win, the South Shore Lumberjacks (16-4-0-0), leaders of the EastLink South Division of the Maritime Junior Hockey League, remained in 10th place overall. The Yarmouth Mariners (14-6-0-0) won a place and are 19th.
The Blizzard will be busy next weekend with three games. The team receives the Amherst Ramblers on Friday, November 24 at 7:30 pm, play on the road in Campbellton the next day to face the Tigers at 7:30 pm, and returns home on Sunday, November 26 for another matchup against the Tigers, at 3 pm.
