The Edmundston Blizzard, first in the division with 26 wins, 7 losses and 3 overtime defeats for 55 points, will face the Western Capitals, 21 wins, 13 losses and 1 defeat in overtime for 43 points.
The Blizzard has won all four games against the Western Capitals this season, but Edmundston edged Summerside by a single goal in each of their last three meetings at the Jean-Daigle Centre.
The table is set for an exciting duel. After a slow start this season, the Capitals are enjoying a nice run of 14 wins in 18 games compared to 12 wins for the Blizzard.
And the Blizzard defense will have to keep a close eye at the top MHL scorer TJ Shea who has 82 points, 23 more than his nearest pursuer. The Western Capitals have the best offensive team of the league.
After this brief stay in Prince Edward Island, the Blizzard will return home for a game against the Miramichi Timberwolves on Sunday at 3 pm at the Jean-Daigle Centre. Sunday’s game is already sold out.
