Blizzard now ranked 13th in the country

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard went from 2nd to 13thin the Canadian Junior A team standings.

The Canadian Junior Hockey League unveiled today its new weekly ranking. The Blizzard (9 wins, 2 defeats), leader of the Eastlink North Division, remains the top-ranked team of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The Yarmouth Mariners (9 wins, 2 losses), leaders of the Eastlink South Division, are just behind the Blizzard with a 14th place.

The top three teams in the country are: Thief River Falls Norskies (1st, 8-0-0-0), of the Superior International Junior Hockey League, Penticton Vees (2nd, 8-0-0-1 ), of the British Columbia Hockey League, and the Battlefords North Stars (3rd, 6-0-1-0), of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

This drop in the rankings for Edmundston is due to its .500 record during the week (2 wins and 2 losses).

The Blizzard returns to action on Sunday, October 22, at 3 pm, when it hosts the South Shore Lumberjacks (7 wins and 3 defeats) at the Palladium of Saint-Jacques. South Shore’s team is based in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
