Blizzard suffers a 4-1 loss to the Western Capitals

SUMMERSIDE, Prince Edward Island – The Edmundston Blizzard once again leaves Prince Edward Island empty-handed. The Western Capitals took a quick 2-0 lead early in the game and held the momentum to eventually defeat the Blizzard 4-1 in front of 1,242 fans at Credit Union Place. Summerside had won the night before 5-2 against Edmundston.

This is the 15th consecutive game without a win for the Blizzard against the Western Capitals since Edmundston’s last triumph on September 20, 2019.

Connor Keough (4th), Isaac Wilson (4), Trentyn Crane (10th) and Marc Richard (9th) scored back-to-back for the Western Capitals (9-2-0-0). Jérémy Duguay (4th) avoided the shutout for the Blizzard (6-8-0-1).

The Capitals outshot the Blizzard 20-18. Samuel LeBlanc was in front of the Blizzard cage for a second night in a row. Brandon Abbott was the Western Capitals goaltender.

The Blizzard will try to shake off their mini lethargy of four games without a win when they host the Miramichi Timberwolves next Friday (7:30 p.m.).
