Blizzard trades Christian Tsao and releases Ethan McLaughlin

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard made a deal by sending 19-year-old defenseman Christian Tsao to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers in return for a conditional 5th round pick in the midget draft of 2021 and future considerations.

Tsao played 19 games with the Blizzard since the start of the season, collecting two assists and accumulating 56 penalty minutes.

In addition, the team’s administration also announced that it had released Ethan McLaughlin, another 19-year-old defenseman, after acquiring him a little over two weeks ago. McLaughlin played in five games and he got one assist.

The Blizzard has actually six regular defensemen in its roster – Marc-Antoine Couture, Justin Lush, Chase Carter, Nicolas Bourque, Tristan Mercure and Alex Lavoie. Tommy Bertrand continues his recovery after suffering a fracture to a collarbone on November 1st.
