Blizzard trades for defenseman Fabrice Bourgeois

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard made another move this week, acquiring lefty defenseman Fabrice Bourgeois in return for future considerations in a deal completed with the Princeville Titan of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League.

A native of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Québec, Bourgeois is a tall 6’3” rearguard. He will play this season as a 20-year-old. Last season, he split his time between the Flin Flon Bombers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and the Yarmouth Mariners of the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL). He collected 2 goals and 4 assists in 22 games with Flin Flon and 1 goal and 9 assists in 19 games with Yarmouth.

“Fabrice is a big, strong and physical defenseman,” says Blizzard general manager Steve MacPherson.
