Blizzard unveils its 10th anniversary logo

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The management of the Edmundston Blizzard is pleased to unveil the logo marking the franchise’s tenth anniversary.

The Blizzard joined the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) for the 2017–2018 season following its relocation from Dieppe.

The god Aeolus maintains his prominent presence on the anniversary logo, continuing to blow with all his might.

Fans will be able to purchase merchandise and clothing featuring the team’s colours and the new logo throughout the season, which will open on Saturday, September 19, at the Jean-Daigle Centre. Festivities will begin in the early afternoon and continue until the opening game, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Various activities will also be organized throughout the year.

“The creation of the new logo is the result of a great collaboration with graphic designer Jacques Rousseau, who has continued to work with us since the very beginning. The logo will also be featured in various forms and adaptations, and we have adopted the slogan ‘Emotion 2017–2027,’ which highlights the extraordinary affection and support the public has for the Blizzard,” explained Blizzard president André Lebel.

Last season, the Blizzard attracted an average of 2,369 spectators per home game, for a total of 78,185 spectators over 33 games, including the regular season and playoffs. The Canadian Junior Hockey League consists of 116 teams across nine leagues. No other team averaged more than 2,000 spectators per home game.
