Blizzard wraps up exhibition games with convincing victory

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard completed their exhibition schedule with a convincing 4-1 win over the Campbellton Tigers on Saturday evening at the Jean-Daigle Centre.

Although the Blizzard outrageously dominated the game (49 shots to 12), the victory was hard-won thanks to the tremendous efforts of goaltender Samuel Quimper, who shone in front of the Tigers cage.

Justin Hébert, Nathan Plamondon, Ryan Loveless and Alexis Jacques found the back of the net for the Blizzard. Carl-Anthony Massé picked up two assists for the Blizzard, who end their preseason schedule with a record of two wins and two losses.

Jacques (1st), Massé (2nd) and Plamondon (3rd) earned the stars of the evening.

Only defenseman Van Sawlor managed to beat goalkeeper Jack Howatt, who had a relatively quiet game in front of the Blizzard net.

Interestingly, Loveless has scored at least one point in each of his seven pre-season games with the Blizzard. Last year, he scored 5 goals and 1 assist in four exhibition games. In three pre-season games this season, he managed 1 goal and 2 assists.

Coach Simon Olivier’s players will get back to work this week as they prepare for their season opener against the Tigers on Friday, September 13 (7:30 p.m.) at the Jean-Daigle Centre.
