Canadian rankings: Blizzard back in 2nd place

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Last week’s two wins weren’t enough to keep the Edmundston Blizzard in first place in the Canadian Junior Hockey League standings.

The Trenton Golden Hawks (24-3-1-0; .875) of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) have won their last 13 games and have a better record than the Blizzard (22-3-1-0; .865). The Leamington Flyers (OJHL, 25-5-2-1; .803) are in third place.

Most ironically, the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL), ranked 5th, have the best record in the country at 22-2-1-1, with a percentage of .885.

The Summerside Western Capitals are 8th with a record of 20-4-2-0 (.808). For the third week in a row, the West Kent Steamers (16-6-1-0; .717) deserve an honorable mention.

In the past week, the Blizzard won both their home games, 5-2 against Campbellton on Thursday and 4-3 in overtime against Pictou County.

The Blizzard’s next game at the Jean-Daigle Centre will be against West-Kent on Thursday, December 5 (7:30 p.m.).
