Canadian rankings: Blizzard now 7th

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard is ranked 7th in the national rankings, following the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) press release of the top 20 Junior A teams.

The Blizzard (29-6-1-1; .811) won two of their three games last week. On Thursday, they doubled the Campbellton Tigers 2-1 in Edmundston. In two road games over the weekend, they first lost 5-1 to the Miramichi Timberwolves on Saturday, then defeated the West Kent Steamers 5-2 on Sunday.

On the national scene, the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL, 32-2-1-1; .917) remain in the driver’s seat, followed by the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL, 29-5-0-0; .853) and the Leamington Flyers (OJHL, 32-5-2-1; .838).

The Summerside Western Capitals (28-5-2-1; .819) moved up to 5th place.

The Blizzard play their next game in Grand Falls on Friday, January 17 (7:30 p.m.) and host the Truro Bearcats the following day (7:30 p.m.).
