Canadian rankings: Blizzard now in 6th place

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard continue to perform well in the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s (CJHL) weekly rankings. Today, they are in 6th place, down two positions.

Over the past week, the Blizzard easily disposed of Miramichi 8-1 on Thursday, before being blanked 4-0 in Campbellton.

In terms of win-loss percentage, the Blizzard (41-6-1-1; .857) rank 5th in Canada.

In the national rankings, the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL, 46-6-2-1; .864) are in first place, followed by the Rockland Nationals (CCHL, 42-6-1-0; .867) and Leamington Flyers (OJHL, 44-6-2-1; .858), the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL, 39-5-1-1; .870), and the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL, 40-7-0-1; .844).

The Summerside Western Capitals (34-9-2-2; .766) dropped from 8th to 11th place. The Amherst Ramblers (33-13-2-0; .708) received another honorable mention.

The Blizzard will play their final three games of the regular schedule at home, on February 27 (7:30 p.m. vs. Fredericton), March 7 (7:30 p.m. vs. Miramichi) and March 9 (3 p.m. vs. Campbellton).
