EDMUNDSTON, N.B. – Another tough game at the Jean-Daigle Centre for the Edmundston Blizzard, who were dominated by the Valley Wildcats, the weakest team in the MHL, who won 7-1 on Saturday night.
Valley (7-21-0-0) were leading 2-0 and 5-0 after the first two periods to enjoy its first-ever win at the Jean-Daigle Centre after six consecutive losses since the 2017-2018 season.
The Blizzard (13-12-1-2) was hoping to bounce back after a 6-2 loss the night before in Bathurst. But execution, both offensively and defensively, was lacking despite a 38-29 shot advantage.
Antoine Pilotte (10th and 11th), Félix Bélanger (10th), Aidan Bent (10th), Victor Proulx (1st), Louis-Carl Tremblay (7th), and Drew Lutz (11th on a penalty shot) beat goalie Rylan Benner.
Wildcats goalie Cohen Stoddard lost his shutout when he gave up a goal to Alex Thibault (5th) with 5:38 remaining in the third period.
The three stars went to the Wildcats: Pilotte (1st), Stoddard (2nd) and Bélanger (3rd).
The Blizzard will play its next game on Saturday, December 13, at the Jean-Daigle Centre against the Grand Falls Rapids (15-12-2-0).
