Fourth consecutive loss for the Blizzard

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Despite a great effort, the Edmundston Blizzard couldn’t shake off their lethargy and they suffered a fourth loss in a row to start the 2022-2023 regular season.

Thursday night, in Miramichi, Simon Olivier’s men lost 5-3 against the Timberwolves. Once again, the Blizzard took the lead late enough in the game to find themselves empty-handed.

In each of its first four meetings, Edmundston was ahead after the first half of the clashes. Players will therefore have to find a way to play with more confidence in the second half of the games.

Ludovic Dufort scored three goals. The other Timberwolves goals (3-0-0-0) were the work of Adam Pinksen and Sam McKinney. The latter broke a 3-3 tie at 10:52 of the third period.

Jacob Duguay, Mitchell McLeod and Alex Arsenault replied for the Blizzard who were up 2-0 after 20 minutes before seeing the local team tie the score 2-2 at the end of the second assault.

The two goaltenders, Kenzie MacPhail (Timberwolves) and Samuel LeBlanc (Blizzard), faced 32 shots each.

Blizzard will try to get their first win on Friday (7 pm) as they visit the Fredericton Red Wings.
