Goalie Clay Ryan joins Blizzard

EDMUNDSTON, N.-B. – The Edmundston Blizzard have completed a trade with the Fredericton Red Wings getting goaltender Clay Ryan in return for future considerations.

Catching left (despite what various sites are saying), Ryan made just one start for the Red Wings this season. A native of St. John’s, Newfoundland, the 5’10” goaltender, born in 2005, enjoyed an excellent career in his native province’s AAA midgets, compiling a 27-3-0 record in two seasons in net for the Pinnacle Growlers.

Ryan steps in in the absence of goaltender Jack Howatt, who will be sidelined for the next two months.

The Blizzard (15-1-0-0) will be in Grand Falls tomorrow (Sunday, October 27, 3 p.m.) to take on the Rapids (3-8-0-2).
