Goalie Frédéric Cousineau joins the Edmundston team

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – To compensate for the absence of goaltender Simon Boucher, who will be out for at least five weeks with a hand injury, the Edmundston Blizzard have completed a transaction with the Truro Bearcats.

Frédéric Cousineau, 19, comes to Edmundston in return for two picks in the 2025 MHL draft (4th and 6th rounds).

Originally from Malartic, Québec, Cousineau is a solid 6’4” goalie. Last season, he appeared in 27 games with the Bearcats, posting a 3.60 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage. This season, he has played in just two games.

His QMJHL experience will certainly be an asset. He defended the cage for the Val-d’Or Foreurs in 14 games in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023, compiling a 4.90 GAA.
