EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard received an honorable mention in the country for another week. The Canadian Junior Hockey League has released its rankings of the nation’s top teams after the holiday break.
Last week, the Blizzard picked up two wins (9-1 on Thursday against Grand Falls and 3-2 on Sunday against Pictou County) and one loss (5-3 against Summerside).
The Blizzard (23-9-1-0 = 47pts) are third overall in the Maritime Junior Hockey League. In the Eastlink North division, they are three points behind the West Kent Steamers (24-8-2-0 = 50pts).
First overall in the MHL, the Summerside Western Capitals (24-3-3-3 = 54pts) moved up one spot on the Canadian scene to fifth. The Steamers are now 19th (18th at the last rankings).
No change on the Canadian scene, where we still find the Flin Flon Bombers (SJHL, 29-2-2-0), followed by the Brooks Bandits (AJHL, 37-4-0-0) and the Collingwood Blues (OJHL, 32-5-0-1).
