EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Edmundston Blizzard forward Philippe Collette has been named one of the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s (CJHL) Elite Players of the Month for October.
The Blizzard captain collected 21 points in 12 games, including a team-record 17 assists in a single month. He currently leads the Maritime Hockey League scoring column with 10 goals and 21 assists (note that he should be credited with an assist on Blizzard’s 3rd goal during Friday’s game).
Philippe Collette was named the Blizzard’s best player for the month of October. Since joining the Blizzard in 2021-2022, the 19-year-old forward from Saint-Antoine has amassed 121 points (45g, 76a) in 90 games. Only Jérémy Duguay (125 points) and Logan Johnston (135 points) have done better than him in a blue-and-white jersey.
The three stars in the country went to goaltender Noah Tegelaar (1st star) of the Collingwood Blues (OJHL), who posted a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .955, forward Jack Plandowski (2nd star), of the Calgary Canucks (AJHL), with 8 goals and 10 assists in 9 games, and goaltender Dave Watling (3rd star), Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL), who recorded a goals-against-average of 1.50 and a save percentage of .934.
