Jake Parker joins Blizzard

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard have acquired forward Jake Parker from the Red Lake Miners in return for future considerations.

Originally from McLeod, a community near Campbellton, Parker is 19 years old and is a power forward of 6’2” and 190 lbs. He started his junior career with the Campbellton Tigers with whom he had 1 goal and 3 assists in 23 games in 2020-2021. After 4 games to start the season in 2021-2022, he was traded to the Red Lake Miners, Ontario, with whom he tallied 9 goals and 10 assists in 25 regular season games in addition to 3 goals and 4 assists in 12 playoff games.

The Miners are part of the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL), a league of five teams from Ontario and two from the United States (states of Minnesota and Wisconsin). Last spring, the Miners won the league playoff championship for the first time and made it to the Memorial Cup.

Before making the jump to the junior ranks, Jake Parker played with the Northern Moose NBPEI Midget AAA Hockey League. In his last season in Bathurst in 2019-2020, he finished second in points (28) in 38 games.
