EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Nineteen-year-old forward Louis-Joseph Beauregard won’t feel too out of place when he joins his new team, the Edmundston Blizzard. A native of Québec City, the 6’0″, 180-pound player suited up last year for a team of the same name, the Northern Manitoba Blizzard. He was acquired in exchange for future considerations.
In 45 games with the Canadian Prairie team last season, he recorded 4 goals and 7 assists. In 11 playoff games, he added 3 goals and 2 assists. He also played in 2 of Northern Manitoba’s 5 games at the Canadian Centennial Cup Championship last May.
Edmundston Blizzard general manager Steve MacPherson describes Louis-Jacob Beauregard as a depth player with multiple assets.
In other news, the Blizzard made a trade last week, sending defenseman Owen Dyke to the Amherst Ramblers in exchange for a first-round pick in the 2026 MHL draft and future considerations. Dyke was the Blizzard’s first-round pick in the 2024 draft.
