Massé handcuffs the Tigers in a 3-1 Blizzard win

CAMPBELLTON, N.B. – Goaltender Cédric Massé once again stood tall making key saves as he led the Edmundston Blizzard to a 3-1 win over the Campbellton Tigers in a MHL game played Friday night in Restigouche County.

Massé became the first goaltender in the league to reach the 20-win mark.

After a scoreless first period, the Tigers took the lead two minutes into the second period on a power play thanks to a goal by Nathan Lebrasseur (9th).

The Blizzard then scored three unanswered goals, with William Labranche (23rd) at 10:42 and Néka Jean (4th – game-winning goal) at 14:25. In the third period, Michael Derbidge delivered the final blow with his fifth goal of the season at 10:22.

The Blizzard dominated 47-32 in shots on goal. Massé earned the first star of the game. The other stars went to two players from the home team, goalie Niko Boudreau (2nd) and Nathan Lebrasseur (3rd).

In addition to leading the league in wins among goalies, Massé also tops the list in goals-against average (2.64), shutouts (4), and save percentage (.912).

The race in the Eastlink North division remains tight, with only three points separating first and fourth place. Chaleur has regained the lead with 51 points (24-13-2-1), followed by West-Kent with 50 (22-11-3-3), Grand Falls with 48 (21-13-5-1), and Edmundston with 48 (22-15-2-2).
