MHL announces First Annual Metalfab All-Star Evening

Truro, N.S. (January 2, 2025) – The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is thrilled to announce the first annual Metalfab All-Star Evening, scheduled for February 11th, 2025. This exciting event will be held at the Jean Daigle Centre in Edmundston, New Brunswick and feature two all-star games.

Players from the Campbellton Tigers, Edmundston Blizzard, Fredericton Red Wings, Grand Falls Rapids, Miramichi Timberwolves, and West Kent Steamers will battle those from the Amherst Ramblers, Pictou County Weeks Crushers, Summerside Western Capitals, Truro Bearcats, Valley Wildcats, and Yarmouth Mariners in Eastlink North Division vs. Eastlink South Division matchups. All teams will be represented by both players and staff at this event.

“The Maritime Junior Hockey League is very excited to be able to showcase our very best players and coaches,” says Interim President Kevin Mitchell. “This provides us with an excellent opportunity to display the outstanding talent in our league. We expect that the event will be heavily scouted and the fans in Edmundston will enjoy some exciting hockey!”

“The Edmundston Blizzard management is very pleased to host this first annual MHL All-Star Evening,” says team president André Lebel. “Fans will be able to see the best Junior A players from the MHL’s teams in one night. We are fortunate in Edmundston to have such a large number of fans who love the MHL product. We thank the league for choosing us to host this event.”

The festivities begin at 6 p.m. on February 11th with the “Young Guns” match, showcasing talented players aged 16 to 18. Then at 8:30 p.m., the second game will spotlight our “Senior Stars”, with players aged 19 to 20. Each game will consist of two 25-minute periods.

Awards for Game MVP, Top Forward, Top Defenseman, Top Goaltender will be presented by the league and event sponsor Metalfab after each of the two games, as well as a special Metalfab Fire Truck Top GRIT Award.
