Truro, N.S. (March 21, 2025) – The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is pleased to announce that Philippe Collette of the Edmundston Blizzard is the 2024-25 Player of the Year.
The 19-year-old from St-Antoine, N.B. is an All-Star for the second season in a row. Collette finished third in the MHL scoring race with 84 points in 48 games and led the league with 58 assists. He had 26 goals to finish third on the team. Collette was one of the league’s most dangerous players in the shootout going a perfect 4 for 4, two of which were shootout winners.
He tied four other players for the longest point streak this season at fourteen games, where he accumulated 37 points from November 24th to January 25th. Like his teammate Jérémy D’Astous, Collette was also one of five players to tally a league-high six points in one game. That came on December 14th where he had two goals, including the game-winner, and four assists.
He was named the league’s Top Forward in October and December and was named to the Eastlink North Team of the Week four times.
