National rankings: an honourable mention for Blizzard

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Thanks to an eight-game winning streak, the Edmundston Blizzard are back in the Canadian Junior Hockey League rankings, and this week earned an honorable mention.

The Blizzard were last ranked among the top Junior A teams in the country on October 16, when they were ranked 20th.

The Blizzard have a record of 18 wins and 8 losses. The Western Capitals (19-2-3-2) are ranked 7th nationally, while the West Kent Steamers (19-7-2-0) are 20th.

In first place on the Canadian scene are the Flin Flon Bombers (SJHL, 26-1-2-0), followed by the Brooks Bandits (AJHL, 31-3-0-0) and the Collingwood Blues (OJHL, 28-3-0-1).

The Blizzard will play its two games of the coming weekend on the road. On Friday, they’ll be in Campbellton (7 p.m.), and on Sunday they’ll visit West Kent in Grand-Bouctouche (7 p.m.).
