Pierre Bourgoin traded to the Edmundston Blizzard

MIRAMICHI, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard made a trade at the beginning of the 32nd Maritime Hockey League draft session held in Miramichi on Saturday, June 10.

The Blizzard acquired Pierre Bourgoin from the Amherst Rambers with a third round draft pick in exchange for Will Laford and a fifth round pick.

Bourgoin, 18, is a forward native of Grand Falls, New Brunswick. He played 8 games over the past two seasons in the MHL with St. Stephen and Amherst. Last season, he recorded 5 goals and 22 assists in 32 games with the Fredericton Canadiens midget AAA.

Lafford, 19, accumulated 27 points (16-11) in 49 games with the Dieppe Commandos last season.

The Blizzard also traded one third round draft pick to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers in exchange for Ryan Roche, a Newfoundland native who scored 14 goals and added 39 assists in 32 games with the Corner Brook Western Kings of the Newfoundland midget AAA last year.
