The Blizzard continues to fill its ranks with the arrival of Tristan Fortin

EDMUNDSTON, N.B. – A new player will join the 2021-2022 Edmundston Blizzard roster. Team management has confirmed the arrival of forward Tristan Fortin, a 19-year-old who played with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in the QMJHL last season.

A Repentigny, Que. native, Fortin is a 5’10 “and 176 lbs centerman. In 2020-2021, he took part in 11 games with the Saguenéens and he was a teammate of young sensation Hendrix Lapierre who now plays for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

Fortin’s rights belonged to the Côte-du-Sud Everest, of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League, where he collected 19 goals and 15 assists in 41 games during the 2019-2020 season. The Blizzard got him in return for future considerations.

Fortin combined a total of 20 games with Chicoutimi without getting a point. Blizzard general manager Steve MacPherson believes his experience will be of great benefit to Blizzard.

“Tristan is a 19-year-old right-handed shot player that will be a big contributor to our team. We are very excited to get someone like Tristan for the next two years,” said MacPherson.
