The Blizzard kicks off their 10th season in Campbellton

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Before the big home festivities on September 19, the Edmundston Blizzard will kick off their 10th season in the Maritime Junior Hockey League with an away game in Campbellton on Friday, September 11. The Tigers and the Blizzard will face off starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Campbellton Memorial Civic Centre.

This will mark the Blizzard’s first season opener on the road in five years. On September 30, 2021, the Blizzard began their schedule in Miramichi. That season was the last to be disrupted by COVID-19, with each team playing between 35 and 39 games out of a standard 52-game schedule. During the 2021–2022 season, the Blizzard were led by head coach Emery Olauson, with a core group of players that included Tristan Therrien, Tristan Fortin, Austin Paul, Raphaël Audet, Jacob Long, Noah Gibbs, and others.

The 2026–2027 edition of the Blizzard features an experienced squad with eight 20-year-old players alongside promising young talent.

Following the September 11 game, the Blizzard will play a home doubleheader. On Saturday, September 19, they will host the Summerside Western Capitals for their home opener. The next day at 3:00 p.m. at the Jean-Daigle Centre, Edmundston will play against the Amherst Ramblers.

Last season, the Blizzard (30-16-3-3 = 66 pts) finished third in the Eastlink North Division and lost in the Metalfab MHL Cup final to the Truro Bearcats (34-14-3-1 = 72 pts). Tickets for the first two games at the Jean-Daigle Centre (September 19 and 20) are available online: https://blizzardedmundston.ticketacces.net.
