Transaction between the Blizzard and the Red Wings

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – At the Maritime Hockey League trade deadline, on Tuesday, the Edmundston Blizzard made a transaction with the Fredericton Red Wings.

The Blizzard is giving up defenseman Nelson Smith, forward Jacob Duguay, a 6th round pick in the 2023 draft as well as future considerations for defenseman Timothy St-Pierre.

Originally from Rimouski, St-Pierre played for two teams in the Eastlink North division this season, with the Campbellton Tigers (20gp, 1g, 3a), then with the Red Wings (10gp, 0g, 4a). He is 6′ tall and weighs 165 lbs.

Smith has played 9 games this year with the Blizzard, collecting 3 assists. A 6’3’’ and 185 lbs defenseman, he is originally from Pointe-Claire, Quebec. As for Jacob Duguay, a 6′ and 181 lbs forward, he played for two seasons with the Blizzard. In 2021-2022, he scored 1 goal in 9 games. This season, he has 2 goals and 2 assists in 23 games.
