William Labranche joins the Blizzard

EDMUNDSTON, Nouveau-Brunswick – Edmundston Blizzard management is pleased to announce the signing of free agent forward William Labranche.

Labranche hails from Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, a town the same size as Edmundston, with a population of some 20,000, located just west of Quebec City. He comes from a family that has been devoted to hockey for generations.

After a brilliant midget career, Labranche played a full season with the QMJHL’s Gatineau Olympiques, with whom he collected 11 goals and 7 assists in 54 games in 2023-2024. This season, he took part in 12 games, collecting 1 goal and 2 assists.

The Blizzard’s management is convinced that he will bring some punch to the attack. Only 18 years old, he stands 5’11 and weighs 183 lbs.

Fans will have a chance to see him in action on Thursday at the Jean-Daigle Centre when the Blizzard host the Campbellton Tigers.
