EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard have just added two important pieces to their roster, acquiring 20-year-old forward William Schofield and 18-year-old defenseman Alexis Jacques.
Blizzard general manager Steve MacPherson acquired Schofield from the Miramichi Timberwolves in return for a fifth-round pick in the 2025 MHL draft and future considerations.
A native of Renous, New Brunswick, Schofield is expected to contribute to his new team’s offensive success. Last year in Miramichi, the 6’0 forward amassed 7 goals and 22 assists in 51 games.
Meanwhile, Alexis Jacques comes to Edmundston as a free agent after being released by the Charlottetown Islanders of the QMJHL.
The 6’1” defenseman from Portneuf, Quebec, played 39 QMJHL games with the Victoriaville Tigres, with whom he collected 1 goal and 2 assists in the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons. Last season, he finished the campaign with the Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard in the Québec U18 AAA Hockey Development League.
