Blizzard moves up three places to 12th in the country!

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard jumped three spots to 12th in the weekly Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) national rankings.

The Blizzard won both games last week by identical 4-3 scores, first in Edmundston on Friday against the West Kent Steamers, then the following day in Fredericton against the Red Wings.

The magic number for the Blizzard (34-11-1-0 = 69 pts) to finish first in the Eastlink North division is 6. Edmundston leads the Steamers (31-14-2-0 = 64 pts) by five points with a game in hand. The MHL calendar ends on March 10, when all teams will have played 52 games each.

The Summerside Western Capitals (33-5-3-6 = 75 pts) dropped from 9th to 10th place in the Canadian standings despite going undefeated in regulation time in their last eight games.

Change on the national scene with a new leader. The Collingwood Blues (OJHL, 47-6-0-1) are ahead of the Steinbach Pistons (MJHL, 41-7-3-0) and the Flin Flon Bombers (SJHL, 41-6-2-0).
