Alexandre Jacob named MHL\’s second star in February

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Edmundston Blizzard forward Alexandre Jacob was named the second star of the month of February in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League (MHL).

Although he appeared in only five games during the month, the 20 year-old from Dieppe, New Brunswick scored four times and added nine assists. Jacob’s final three games of the month played a pivotal role in the Blizzard’s march towards maintaining top spot overall in the MHL standings. On February 16th, he registered five points against the St. Stephen Aces. On the 18th, it was a three point effort against the Yarmouth Mariners. Finally, Jacob produced a pair of points versus the Miramichi Timberwolves on the 24th. Jacob finished the month tied for the team lead in scoring with 60 points in 43 games.

February’s first star is Summerside Western Capitals forward Brodie MacArthur. In seven games, the 18 year old from Summerside scored three goals and added 14 assists. MacArthur recorded a point in each game during the month, ending February on a remarkable 31 game point streak that dates back to October 29th (at Jean-Daigle Centre in Edmundston).

Another Western Capitals player earned the third star of the month. In seven games, defenseman Sebastien Cormier scored five goals and added six assists.
