Blizzard-Timberwolves series kicks off Friday

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The wait will have lasted 15 days before the Edmundston Blizzard return to action when the Eastlink North Division final of the Metalfab MHL Cup gets underway on Friday, April 5.

The best of seven series kicks off on Friday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Jean-Daigle Centre. All games will be played in alternating arenas. The second game will be presented in Miramichi on Sunday, April 7, starting at 7 p.m.

Here’s the complete series schedule:

Friday, April 5 in Edmundston, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 7 in Miramichi, 7 p.m.
Tuesday, April 9 in Edmundston, 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 11 in Miramichi, 7 p.m.

Monday, April 15, Miramichi, 7 p.m. (if necessary)

This promises to be an interesting series, given that the two teams were head-to-head in all eight of their meetings this season. The Blizzard won four of those games, including two in overtime. The Wolves won four of the games in regulation time. Edmundston held a 31-27 advantage in goals scored between the two teams.

Edmundston and Miramichi completed their calendar with identical 8-2-0-0 records. After suffering their first loss to West Kent in the playoffs, the Timberwolves won the next four games.

In the first round of the 2023 playoffs, the Blizzard defeated the Timberwolves 4-2.

Tickets for the first two games at the Jean-Daigle Centre (April 5 and 9) will go on sale to the public online from Wednesday, April 3, at 9 a.m. (https://blizzardedmundston.ticketacces.net).
