Edmundston’s Nadeau named Top Rookie for Oct/Nov

Truro, N.S. (December 2, 2020) – The Maritime Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce Joshua Nadeau of the Edmundston Blizzard has been named the Rookie of the Month for October/November. Through from the start of the season and the first full month of play, the 17-year-old from Saint-François-de-Madawaska, New Brunswick leads the MHL in goals (9) and points (20) through the Blizzard’s opening eight games. He is tops among all rookies in goals, assists (11), points, powerplay goals (4), powerplay assists (4), and is tied with two other rookies with one game-winning goal.

Nadeau was selected as a Territorial Draft Pick in the 2019 MHL Entry Draft. He’s been held off the scoresheet just once this season, in his first MHL game on October 30th. After an assist in his second game and a goal and assist in his third, Nadeau had a five point night on November 14th against Grand Falls (two goals and three assists). Nadeau has tallied three points in each of his final four games of the month.

Honourable Mention – Carter McCluskey (Grand Falls Rapids) – Second in rookie scoring at the end of November, McCluskey is tied for fifth in league scoring with 14 points and tied for second in overall goals with seven. For rookie scoring, the 17-year-old from Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick trails only Nadeau in goals, assists, points, and powerplay goals.
