MHL to postpone remaining games in January, target February return to play

Truro, N.S. (January 6, 2022) – With the current restrictions surrounding sports and recreation in the region, the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is now targeting February 2nd to restart the 2021-22 regular season.

The Board of Governors has voted to move from a 52-game schedule to 42 games. This decision is due to the amount of time remaining to play the season and playoffs, as well as the dates for both the Fred Page Cup in Summerside and the National Championship. This will remove one home game and one away game for every team against each of their divisional opponents.

A revised schedule is in development. Should government restrictions allow for play to resume prior to February 2nd, the schedule will be adjusted.
