Blizzard reinforces its defense unit with the addition of Tim Porter

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard have added weight and experience to its defensive unit by acquiring defenseman Tim Porter from the Soo Thunberbirds of the Northern Junior Hockey League (NOJHL). In return, the Blizzard gave away future considerations.

Born in Lower Onslow, Nova Scotia, Porter is 19 years old, 6’2″ tall and weighs 180 lbs. He played for the Truro Bearcats last season. In 30 games, he had 1 goal and 3 assists. The Bearcats traded him to Soo yesterday. He will therefore only have passed through this short-lived transaction.

Porter appeared in 15 of Truro’s 17 playoff games last spring. The Bearcats lost in five games to the Summerside Western Capitals.
