EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard’s top scorer last season, Félix Bédard, has committed with the Carleton University Ravens for the upcoming university hockey season. The 20-year-old forward will join former Blizzard captain Peter Amanatidis, who became a Raven last May.
The Ravens are based in Ottawa (Carleton University) and play in the Eastern Ontario University Hockey League (OUA-East).
The 20-year-old from Laterrière, Quebec finished second in league scoring with 92 points in 51 games. Bédard was fourth in goals with 37 and his 55 assists were second to Fredericton’s Carter McCluskey, who had 59. Bédard was tied with Valley rookie Spencer Caines and West Kent’s Alexis Daniel for the third-most powerplay points this season at 26. He was named Top Forward in December and January, and selected to the Eastlink North Team of the Week five times. Bédard was held off the scoresheet just nine times this season and had at least three points in seventeen games. His season-high was five points, which was accomplished twice in a three-game stretch.
Félix Bédard holds the Blizzard record for most points in a single season. He was also nominated for the title of best Junior A forward in the country for the month of January.
Blizzard management would like to thank Félix for his service to the team and wish him every success in his studies and with his new team.
