Summerside/Edmundston suspended game rescheduled

Truro, N.S. (February 7, 2023) – The game Saturday, January 28th between the Summerside Western Capitals and the Edmundston Blizzard, which was suspended before the start of the 3rd period, will be resumed on Friday, February 17th after the regularly scheduled game at Centre Jean Daigle.

The referees called for a suspension of the game in the interest of player safety due to poor ice conditions on January 28th. At the time that the action was halted, Edmundston was leading 5-3. After an investigation by Maritime Junior Hockey League officials, it was determined there was absolutely no wrongdoing from either team that led to these conditions.

On February 17th, the regularly scheduled game will be moved from a start time of 7:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., with Edmundston and Summerside playing three 15-minute periods. At the completion of this game, the teams will finish the January 28th game with a full 20-minute period. It will be resumed with the score 5-3 for the Blizzard and the rosters will be the same as when the game started.
