Éric Plourde joins the Blizzard as a scout

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Edmundston Blizzard President André Lebel and General Manager Steve MacPherson are pleased to announce the appointment of Éric Plourde to the position of scout for the Quebec territory of Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie and Iles-de-la-Madeleine

Plourde has a very long track record in hockey scouting. He has been scouting for the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL since 2016. He held similar positions with the Val-d’Or Foreurs from 2005 to 2009. He was also scout and special advisor for the Saint-Jérôme Panthères in the QAAAJHL from 2016 to 2019.

Since 2020, he has assumed the duties of head coach with the Pionniers du Cégep de Rimouski in the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) D2 college league. He led the Pionniers to the provincial championship in the 2021-2022 season.

Éric Plourde will team up with General Manager Steve MacPherson, Recruiting Director Michel Gauvin and Head Coach Simon Olivier in the search for future players to fill the ranks of the Edmundston Blizzard.
